We also believe that education can be very helpful to a couple throughout the conception process; therefore, we will incorporate an overview of causes and treatments into your plan of care.
Are you a candidate for Infertility Care?
You could benefit from Infertility Care if:
- You have been attempting to conceive for 1 year.
- You are over 35 years old and have been trying to get pregnant for 6 months.
- You have had 3 or more miscarriages.
What Types of Infertility Services and Treatments can I expect?
Initial Infertility Consultation:
Your initial appointment will be with our Nurse Practitioner, who introduces you to our approach to infertility care. She will provide an overview of your care, and begin the work-up process with you. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled with the Physician of your choice to develop the plan that best suits you and your partner.
Morning Clinic:
We, at Western are very proud of our "Morning Clinic", and thanks to our dedicated staff, patients receive the highest quality care in a caring manner. Close monitoring is essential and frequent last minute appointments are a reality; therefore, the time between 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. is reserved for Infertility Services at our Chaska office. One of our providers will review your progress, review your plan of care, provide you with appropriate prescriptions, answer any questions, and consult with your physician if necessary. We want your experience to be comfortable and helpful.
Reproductive Endocrinologist:
Western Ob/Gyn has a special relationship with a reproductive endocrinology group, if it is determined that you could benefit from further evaluation and treatment. A reproductive endocrinologist visits our Chaska office on a regular basis to consult with patients. You may continue your care at our offices with the management of one of these reproductive endocrinologists, or you may choose to continue your care at their Minneapolis, MN office.
Management of Medicated Cycles:
Depending on the type of medication prescribed for you in your Care Plan, you may receive care management by one of Western's physicians, or by one of the reproductive endocrinologists who visit our office in Waconia. In either situation, you may continue your care at Western, if you so choose.
Follicle Study:
This scan follows the growth of a follicle by ultrasound until it reaches maturity. A follicle study helps determine when ovulation may occur.
Artificial Insemination:
Semen is introduced into the uterus by way of a small catheter. This procedure is most often used when low sperm count and low motility is determined. We can perform this procedure for you at our clinic office.
